Hi, I'm writing a feature for The Norther Echo and am trying to find a long-suffering wife or girlfriend to talk about what's it's like going out with a dedicated England fan (ideally someone who's turned their house into a shrine for the world cup /taken leave for the world cup or is maybe going to S Africa ). I'm also looking for any dedicated female football fans who are obsessed with the game.
If you can help with any of the above ASAP, please let me know,

thanks

"but lost in the final game against Sevilla with a score 4-0."

an extremely embarrassing defeat and also a record defeat in the final of this competition at the hands of a team of Spanish minnows.

Hi,I was wondering if you might help me with a query.I have recently inherited a signed matchball from,as far as I can work out from faded signatures, bad handwriting and guesswork, could be from the Newcastle / Boro Anglo Scottish Cup match on 14th August 1977. The two signatures I have worked out are David Mills and Mike Mahoney, who played in goal for Newcastle for a while but not when Mills was there. The referee Peter Willis has also signed the ball. Newcastle won the game 3-0 and I can only assume someone scored all three goals but can not find the scorers anywhere. Do you know who scored or where I may find out ? The ball,if it's any help is a Slazenger "Plus".Any help will be gratefully received.
Regards, Peter

Dear editor,

I am a 3rd year student at the University of Nottingham currently undergoing my dissertation which will make up a substantial percentage of my final result. I am a Geography student but also very passionate football fan (a Hornet in fact- I shall be making the trip north tomorrow - but not with much confidence!)so decided to combine the two and present a thesis on the changing form and locations of British football grounds and how this reflects broader socio-cultural changes in the modern urban environment. Part of this included having to gather data, as it is supposed to be a research project. I have been trying to collect data through a short questionnaire to fans up and down ,the country through websites such as BBC 606 and Vital Football, but have been met by frustrating red tape and regulations.
Therefore I am asking you guys if there is anyway you can help me with this as I would ideally like to get answers to this survey from football fans all over the UK. It would be brilliant if you could do something like forward my questionnaire onto the members of your site with my email address to send the answers to. I'm afraid I cannot offer much incentive to anyone who helps me out here, except I can guarantee a note in the work thanking respondents, as well as offering a copy of the finished work before it is handed in. Any ideas on how I could get some answers from Sheffield Wednesday fans would be great.

Thanks in advance

hi

Probably a long-shot - my great uncle was a director of Middlesbrough FC and i wonder if you have any archive info on him? he was benjamin watts 1889-1951 and was a woodyard owner and lived in middlesbrough all his life. the family says that he had his ashes scattered at ayresome park. I imagine he was a director in 1930-1950's.

any help, gratefully received,

cheers,
